The first Rains !

Rains....almost everyone would hold a pleasant or an unpleasant memory with a rainy day!! To me it’s like drops of memory......that fall on me and follow me throughout in life.

This was very recent...I'd decided to walk in the rains with no reasons at all. (I don't enjoy them as I did before!!) It was pouring crazy and was the first rains of monsoon. I had just met a few of my friends...who did of course offer to drop me home by the car...but the wired me had a firm mind to walk home.

I did have an Umbrella but it dint really help much. I could see only a few cars, gallons of water flowing down the road, all people trying to squeeze in where they could find some shelter from the rains, cars stopping along on the road as they could not drive ahead.

Thinking of the rain to me it is the
condensation of thoughts and emotions into unmanageable feelings and behavior that pour out....they are so heavy that they just drop to the surface and yet can’t be differentiated. Depending on the condensation and the swift of the wind the power of it is defined......(Does that make sense??)

Continuing on this day....after quite a lot of walking in the rain a car approached towards me and stopped there with a sweet lady lowering her window and asking me if I need to be dropped somewhere...I was amazed...I just answered to her, '. Thank you aunty! I am ok' I was just wondering if she was not ok? or I was not ok? As I walked ahead I saw this old man who with a bag of food was try to cross the road. He was signaling the traffic that he could not see due to the rains to please slow down and allow him to cross. I went up to him held his hands that were shivering in cold took him under the umbrella and walked him across the road.

I walked with him till his small little hut where is old wife stood waiting. She worked as a maid at homes close by, he told me. He was affectionate and blessed me like any other Indian old man would do. I was pleased that he reached home and enjoyed the moment when the two of them waved at me with a smile as I continued to walk towards home.

As I continued to walk my way home, I had another car to my surprise stop and ask me if I needed a drop. This time it was a man who was aged as much as my dad, with a sweet smile he asked me would you need a drop? No Uncle I am ok, I said and continued to walk. I had noticed his car a few minutes before as he had parked along the road.

I was wonder struck when I thought of the events that occurred as I walked in the rain.....Why was I offered a drop twice to my destination while the old man on the road was left alone to reach his destination. I wonder why?? There could have been anyone with an umbrella to walk out of their car and help him across. Why dint that happen? Why was there no one to initiate??

With all the thinking running through me.....i looked to my left to find myself in front of my home. I slowly walked in to find my mom and grand parents asleep....I sneaked in and changed before anyone realized I walked in the rains. But there is always a question in my mind 'Why?' for every happening of life.

Cheers to life!

  1. Have you ever tried helping a seemingly helpless layman and later found out that you were totally dumb not to recognize the bluff... probably you should read my post titled "ಭಿಕ್ಷೆ - ೧" - that should answer why people tend to be picky and choosy in helping the needy, even if the person seeking help is genuinely in trouble.

As far as people offering help to you, I am not sure but the possibility is that they might have seen you around and might have thought of helping you; typically and understandably, the fairer sex gets a longer helping hand in such situations :) (With reference to your previous post "Woman!", people respected and cared for woman more than they do; you had the answer in your previous post itself you see)

  5. hey hii sneha
good one u have focus on mindsets of human beings
but i would like to state that may be m wrong this is just my view

u got help twice because u deny to accept it once and about dat old guy u help in dat case i would like to say that after when u get help first time after that u help that old guy, when ur job is over and u started moving to your place u get help for second time

in this you have raise a question on mindsets of humanbeing... that why they have offer u help twice and not a single time to a old guy

but i like to state two conditions here that:
    1. if suppose u have accepted help at first time only then that second help could offer to old guy

    2. because after denying ur first help u choose to help the old guy and u started moving to your home thats why that help again comes to your way second time (thats different thing u again choose to walk - as u have decided to walk because u want to experience drops of the memory".
